Missed Jacob & James in SS. Expecting Jacob back any day now. James was at Labette. Sorry I missed your call James. Nothing showed up on my caller ID assuming you called my cell phone. Try again Lots of visitors in Church and Gary had the sermon. It was on hell (or hades or sheol if u prefer). Not the kind of sermon we usually have, but very needful in my opinion. Speaking for myself, I don’t think I have enough of the fear of God. Not a scared fear, but respectful fear. Heard a story about a young man who had a chemical burn and thot he was burning in hell. WOW!!!

This week is Ryan’s turn for our SS class prayer project. He states a praise item that he doesn’t get to work for Nisly Brothers this week. Now why would that be a praise item???? Also asks prayer for sustained health. I might also mention that his instruction class is almost finished and we could pray that God blesses him in a special way.

At work now and boring as ever. Not that I’m complaining, but that’s just the way it is. The special room, otherwise known as the ER, has been quiet, so my coworkers are pleased with me. We had an outpatient come in for IV meds at 5PM & will come in again at 1AM. Pretty sad when that’s all the excitement work provides, but then again things can change very quickly around here.

Putting ER charts and admission packets together and need to make lots of copies. We are trying out a new copier & we are not getting along well AT ALL!!!! Next week we’ll try out a different one and see how that goes.

Guess I’d better close and continue the dual with the new copier. Also…..u have NO idea how easy it is to do wordpress at work with a nice, fast connection. YEAH!!!

Got home about 1AM. A quiet nite at work so I could leave early. Very nice since Sunday will be a big day here. Delivered the last 2 sets of 941’s & KS Unempl today. Very seldom do I get these forms finished before the dealine ( July 31). Don’t know what I’ll do with myself Monday since I’m all caught up and won’t have the usual rush. Definitely out of my comfort zone here.

Better study the SS lesson and get myself to bed. Have a good nite everyone!!!

Spent most of Friday entering checks & deposits in Quickbooks for my last 2 payroll people & got the rest of the 941’s & KS Unempl finished. Came home from Hillsboro only to discover that I left my file folder and info there and I needed it to finish up my reports to deliver Sat. This is the 2nd time this week I’ve needed to make an extra trip needlessly. I guess I need to be chewed out by someone to be more careful……., but who will that be????

Made the 2nd trip to Hillsboro about 1AM. Really don’t mind driving at that time of night. Just need to be on the lookout for Bambi and her friends who are usually up to their mischief about that time.

Couldn’t get on to wordpress last night. O sure…….it’s the AOL isn’t it

Another quiet night at work. No ER’s and that makes mikey sad . Not that I want anyone to get sick or injured, but if it has to happen, then……….. I will be happy to wave you in the door. For some reason my co-workers don’t appreciate my enthusiasm for the ’special room’ as it’s fondly referred to.

Uncle Warren and Aunt Vivian are leaving for Houston Friday. He has an appt at the Anderson Cancer Center on Monday. A kind neighbor 4 miles north of us, Jerry Knopf, had terminal cancer several months ago and was treated there & now he has a clean bill of health. He & his wife are going to go with W&V and show them around. They have a plane in Ponca City, OK that is available free of charge for their travels to & from Houston.

Good to see Jacinda improving so much. She even had me sign her cast. I’m greatly humbled and honored. Will keep praying for your continued recovery Jacinda!!

Looking forward to another day of payroll reports tomorrow, so will sign off for now.

Had a mostly good day today. Got several 941’s & KS Unempl forms filled out & even quite a few delivered & signed already. These aren’t due till Mon, so feel good to be ahead of schedule. Still trying to track down a young lady for the amount of her tips last month. Yes, she has to pay taxes on those thru her employer! Went to Church tonight & Misael gave a report on the children’s home they are going to be involved with & showed some slides also. Told about a little girl named Jacqueline who had surgery to save her life and then the before and after pictures. A very cute little girl. They are planning to leave for El Salvador sometime in August.

Made several tax stops after Church & crashed a surprise BD party for Mae Yoder at Steve Millers. She had a huge tray loaded with TP rolls with a surpise in each one. Too many rolls for this person to count. An excellent BD idea!!!

Went on a Kwik Shop run with Jdeany and had a nice chat with him to catch up on things. Glad to find out James won a purple ribbon on his eagle which I didn’t realize he had at the fair. Also a lot of blue ribbons. Well done James!!!

Had a good rain at Hutch, but didn’t get much here at home. Salina is now in a water emergency and extreme conservation measures are being taken. The Smoky Hill River is only running at a trickle now as the irrigators upstream all the way to Kanopolis are pumping it dry. Soon they will be ordered to stop so the river can replenish itself. Sounds like bad news for the farmers. Our irrigated corn is turning brown even with heavy irrigation. Guess that’s summer in KS.

Need to get to bed shortly. Up and at it Josh!! Almost time to milk

Another tiring day. Up at 6AM & went back to Hillsboro. btw….the Mt Dew did NOT work this time. Tired & sluggish most of the day. Finally gave up and sent in the sales tax info I have. It really probably is OK, but just hasn’t been reconciled with the bank statement yet. Then on to a few more payroll report stops & talked with one guy who is in a business dispute with another guy I work with. Think we’ll get that all worked out, but still a bit stressful.

Ate an early meal at 10:45AM & picked up some more tax stuff for my next big project….KS Unemployment & 941’s & 940 prepays are due July 31. Home & made copies & the final trip to the PO for today’s scary deadline about Noon. Then home & to bed for most of the day.

Another hot one, but missed the heat of the day. Oh…didn’t mention that I saw little Blake & his parents yesterday. He’s the 3 (maybe 4 now) yr old who lost his leg in a mowing accident. He’s doing great & is one cheerful little guy.

If I ever get myself motivated it would be good to get started on some 941’s. I’ve got one done already & several yet to go. So boredom is still way beyond my reach.

Oh, John….I was at the fair about 11AM or a little after on Monday. Didn’t see anyone I know, but had fun looking at everything. Sorry I missed your lamb James. Didn’t realize you had another friend there . Congrats on your ribbons. And congats to you John on reserve Champion!!

Glad this busy day is over. Up at 7AM & started the Hutch stops at 8:30AM & actually finished earlier than I expected & stopped at the RN County fair to look at entries. Saw Lewis who is John Miller’s friend. Also Gigi & Sherman who are friends of Steph & Jewel. Saw 2 rockets by James & Jonnie. Also some ceramics: swan & cup by Jonnie, bear by Eunice, some Linux tuxs & a landscape by Jewel & the biggest surprise of all………a ceramic football by James!!! Imagine that!!! Plz pardon me if I got some of this mixed up. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be! Excellent entries in my opinion!!!

Actually kinda fun to be up this early & my trusty Mt Dew didn’t let me down. Then on to Buhler, MP & then to Newton & back to Mac. Had to make another trip to Newton & back. Sure glad there is a nice new superslab between those 2 towns. Then on to Hillsboro & Durham before arriving home at 9PM.

A nice surprise just as I was going on the home stretch….a call from Jacob informing me of all the happenings on their vacation to PA, VA & WV. Having rain & high humidity in those parts. Overall seems to be having a good vacation. Hurry back Jacob!!

Got all the sales tax & KS WH done & ready to mail except for the last pair in Hillsboro. Hoping to be up at 6AM & spend the day there to get that one out of the way. Need every hour & minute I can find.

Exciting life here Jdeany???? Think I wouldn’t mind some boredom about now, but that seems unattainable at this point. Thx for the comment.

It’s off to bed now for a precious few hours of sleep!!

Just now getting ready to go to bed. Went to Church & all there in SS but Jacob who is on vacation to PA & various other places. This week we’ll pray for James again. Oren had the sermon and some of it was on rest. Unfortunately I was resting part of the time . I don’t think that was the kind of rest he was referring to. Chatted with some people I haven’t talked to for a long time. Glad to see Richard Thayer back from Minn. His father-in-law is not doing well. Had one of my favorite meals at Fannie’s…..meatballs!!!

Slept the afternoon away & went home & slept some more. Had a nasty headache on the way home & finally it went away. Watered everything after I got up at 8PM. Today I am noticing some very large cracks in the ground. Yes, it is quite dry here. Then on to sales tax & KS WH & got quite a bit done. Now I can sleep in peace feeling ready to face a BIG day tomorrow. Have stops in Hutch starting at 8:30AM & then to Buhler, MP, Newton & Hillsboro. Will try to get most of the smaller accounts out of the way & then on to the big new one & will be at that thru Monday night & into Tues until I can get reasonable figures for sales tax & KS WH.

Got home about midnight. Didn’t get to Hillsboro till 9:45AM as I was completely unable to sleep for some reason. Seems like one of those cases where a person gets TOO tired to sleep. Anyway, once I got there it was mostly nonstop till 11:30PM. Making progress & FINALLY found that pesky beginning balance that was hiding from me yesterday. Ate a sandwich at Main Street Delite which is a new sandwich shop nearby. It was nice. Sales tax & KS Withholding all due Tues, so must keep pedalling away.

Uncle Warren’s memory was fading a bit more today. He has voluntarily decided to quit driving. Takes a real man to do that!!!! My hero!!

Still need to study the SS lesson, so must run.

Got home from work last night about 4:15AM. Had my usual snack & then the biggest surprise of all. It started raining. YEAH!! A slow, steady rain & think we had maybe 20/100th. At least it got the ground wet. Today was a chilly 80 degrees. Didn’t mind a bit.

Didn’t mention last night that Thurs was Dr. Campbell’s last night on call at the hospital. She is moving to Jeff City, MO next week. Will be a big loss for us. A very nice lady & we wish her the best!

Today was spent in Hillsboro doing Quickbooks entry work for a new client. Need to find the starting bank statement balance for 2006 among about 40 deposits & 140 checks & withdrawals per month. A big puzzle & the solution has eluded me all day today. Need to be back there tomorrow at the painfully early hour of 8:30AM!!! Didn’t sleep well last night, but not really sure why. I felt rested this morning at 1PM. I am VERY tired now, so think if should be a restful night.

Now here is some news of utmost importance to all of you. Did you know that the Internal Revenue Service Building at 1111 Constitution Ave in Washington DC is flooded & will be closed for at least 30 days?? Just found this in my IRS weekly news eline. Can’t imagine why this didn’t make the front page of the Salina Journal!! Do NOT panic!!!!! Cleaning progress is on shedule.
