Reconciled all my credit cards today and everything is nice and balanced-just the way I like it!

Continued on 3 smaller tax returns and then did some Quickbooks entry-credit card transactions from clear back to the beginning of 2006 for one client (and LOTS of them). About time to get that done!

Also went over transactions with my father for the LLC and need to get those entered also. So much to do and so little time.

Greg had a football game at Campo Colorado, clear in the SE corner of the state. Several hours away from Rush. More time spent travelling than playing football. It was a loss for Greg’s team and lots of blood during the first 4 minutes, according to sister, Jenna. Guess that’s better than sprains and fractures.

Went to work from 7P-11P to cover for Kathie who had a concert or something going on tonight. Met a new nurse (to our facility) who lives in Emporia. She also works at the Labette Hospital. Apparently she also likes to spend time on the road. We hit it off well, but alas…she will be working the other weekend so prob won’t see much of her. However, my 2 regular RN’s on my weekend are also tops and can’t imagine trading them off either. So guess it’s OK.

Tonight is a special milestone for me-exactly 28 years working for this facility Salem/HCMC. And for another close friend-CNA of mine it is exactly 30 years for her working at this facility. Privacy is important to her, so won’t mention her name.

And now….it is time to study Rev Ch 14 for SS tomorrow

Slept as long as I wanted and then up and at it. Filling silo is the big farm activity here and we had some neighbors helping also. I sort of miss driving truck, but just don’t have time anymore, and I guess it really isn’t legal any more since I don’t have a CDL. Haven’t checked it out for sure.

Finished the big tax return and got 2 more smaller ones done today. For some reason I have been really wiped out today. Had to take several naps and is most strange since I am OFF Skelaxin now and that’s the one that seemed to make me sleepy when I first started taking it. Actually I ran out of Skelaxin and don’t want to refill it since I have yet another dr appt coming up to start reducing meds.

Stopped to see Jim on the way to Hutch. He is babysitting his God daughter, Lizzie, for the weekend-age 1. Ate at the German Buffet which just moved to MP from Moundridge and is just down the street a few blocks. It was PACKED with people at 7:30 and they were having quite a time keeping the buffet stocked with food-fried potatoes and gravy, ham and vrenika, the food I really wanted. Saw Ethel and she was just finishing a 12 hr shift, so was quite tired by then.

A tight squeeze at the booth and was all I could do to get myself unwedged out of there for another large helping. Lizzie did well with 2 inexperienced old men trying to keep her fed and happy.

Dropped off the 3 tax returns and home again. Rode in with 3 bikers in front of me and enjoyed the extra noise and excitement.

Now on to the bad news. My first efile reject of the season. The wife is out of state and the husband is here in KS in prison. I certainly hope I don’t need to paper file this one and go through all that mailing of  forms here and there, etc again. A mismatch between a W-2’s employer ID # from what’s shown on the W-2 and with the official IRS records. Hopefully it’s just a minor number error, that can be easily corrected. Trying to get ahold of the out of state employer with no success thus far. This kind of thing just makes me groan and sigh!!

(groan, sigh……)

Still pecking away at another big tax return. Trying to recommend various ways to liquidate accounts with as little painful tax consequences as possible.

Stopped at the bank for a quick item, then stopped at the Roxbury PO to wish postmaster Brian Lacy well. He will be transferring to the Abilene PO which is where he lives anyway, so that will be a good change for him. Prob should mention that refreshments helped draw me there.

A slow day at the hospital. One young man injured himself by trying to do some acrobatics. Didn’t say if the onlookers were impressed or not.

Got out early with low census and I really need to get some things done at home, so 11PM clock out time was welcome here.

Since Dad had Gideons tonight, it was ladies night out for Mom & Aunt Vivian. They had a meal at Chili’s & went for a movie. The seemingly tame title did NOT match the content. Guess that happens sometimes. They still had a good time tho.

Had a bit of a slow start, going over mail & all kinds of things. Went to TRG and did payroll and that was all routine.

Darcee’s father is not doing well and they are in a painful waiting period. Very little change for quite some time. Please pray for Darcee and her family as well as for her father.

Made several calls to set up a KS Unempl account for a new household employer I’m working with. Talked to the Junction City office who referred me to Wichita for a Hutch employer. They are all very pleasant when starting up a new account :)

Tonight was prayer time at Church. Tim Miller was the leader and read off several local prayer requests, even took the time to check with law enforcement to see what the big needs are: meth use and juvenile vandalism are the 2 big problems that were mentioned. After a fun shuffle of various rows, we  broke up into groups of 3 or 4. I prayed with Marvin Mast and Lyle Stutzman and that was very good.

Made a quick tax stop after Church and checked up on Jim. The move is pretty much on hold for now. Still has a leak in his apt from an upstairs bathtub. This creates a strange lack of privacy for the upstairs tenant as bathing habits become known to neighbors.

Kind of had a slow start to the day, but finally got up to speed and getting close to finishing 2 big tax returns. Have a lot of easy ones coming up, so that should be fun.

Went to the chiropractor & my shoulder is doing fairly well today. Rate my pain as 1 out of 10, so am grateful for that. Finished the sales tax forms due today & got those mailed after I was done with the chiro. Then went to Office Max for another box of Acco file fasteners.

Then it was on to Hutch & met Shane at Applebees and had a nice meal with him there. Turned age 21 about 1.5 months ago. We both had our typical fare for Applebees. Mine was the usual shrimp parmesan sirloin. Some fairly major beverage dumps at a nearby table, but thankfully we were left high & dry.

Also heard some happy news for 2 young ones who are just embarking on a special relationship-Joel & Hilda. Best wishes!

Oh, wanted to mention that this week our SS class will be praying for Grant and he asks for wisdom in time management. That is an issue that I can certainly relate to.

Later went to a big event in Laverne’s pasture. As far as I can tell this was located directly in the center of the section so was far from the bustle of any nearby roads. A full moon in the sky provided much illumination. Laverne & Rebecca & Joe & Twila were there as sponsers and assisted in feeding many hungry mouths.

A very nice evening!

Continued on the lengthy tax return that was started Sat and finally ready for calls to answer last minute questions.

Went to MP and Jim is in the process of moving to a different place. All kinds of difficulties and challenges to contend with here. I am confident things will work out eventually, but timing is so crucial and we don’t have the privilege of hindsight at this point.

Then went on to Buhler to pick up sales tax info & went on back home to process those items and continue on the above mentioned tax return.

Up and at it and went to Church. SS on Rev chapter 13. The Yutzy family members were gone and according to Leroy may have attended a wedding or family event in MO.

Glad to have Julian join us again. Went over Chapter 13 primarily with Ted Byler’s interpretation of things. Went over history and past events to see how they might relate betw Ch 13 & Daniel Ch 7, etc.

Gary Miller had the sermon on a Biblical view of Tolerance, which at first might seem strange, considering the conclusions of the topic of Love vs Tolerance Wed. It all fit together well and maybe it could be said love includes tolerance to some degree. However, love is definitely the focus.

Counted the offering with Harold and just out of the blue mentioned a strong need to pray for me Friday. That was of GREAT encouragement. Thank you Harold and Praise God!!

Leroy told me about the difficulty he is having trying to read in the Church building. Possibly a chemical or cologne/perfume bothering his eyes. He needs to go outside to rest his eyes. Must be quite distressing.

A fairly calm day at work. The admission that came in last evening was dismissed today. Only 1 relatively minor ER.

VERY pleased to rec a phone call from Luke. Good to hear about upcoming events in his life and directions he feels God may be leading him to in the future. Apprec Luke’s listening ear to my recent challenges. God bless you friend!!

Stayed till 3AM and home and to bed and to bed by 4:30AM.

Slept poorly last night. Soon after I woke up I had a nice long talk with Titus to sort things out. That was all very good. Then started on another tax return that has been neglected for much too long. Getting call backs, but don’t having anything to report back yet.

Went to work and we went from zero pts on Thurs to 3 today and 2 ERs with one turning into yet another admission. Even with that going on my mind was still racing.

Would say I was on a crash for most of the afternoon with events earlier in my life haunting me again. Not appropriate to mention details, but felt like I was on a hi-rise & crashing through floor after floor and no end in sight.

A condition like this leaves me vulnerable to Satan and somehow the prayers of others and reaching out to God got me out of it.

Later had an interesting conversation with a young visitor named Leo. He is a devout Catholic, one of my co-workers is a devout EX-Catholic and that brought some interesting topics to discuss. Also interesting to find out he is working for Jason Wiebe and is Richard Thayers replacement on the dairy farm. This chat somehow lifted me out of my self-absorbed thots. Praise God.

Got out soon after 11PM and went on home to cont studying for SS. This as much as anything also helped get me out of a dangerous rut and was something I could really get into and enjoyed doing so.

Slept very poorly last night and that is most unusual. Trying to make sense of things & they just don’t make sense.

The song “Changes” comes to mind by OO.

Went for a visit with my nerve doc and that part is going well and don’t need to return for another 2 months which is about Thanksgiving time. Saw some neighbors driving out the driveway at the big clinic across from Salina Reg Health Center. That was a big wave.

Home and tried to take another nap and still no sleep. Don’t know what’s going on. Maybe I really do need Ativan??

Finally had the strength to finish a tax return for a couple leaving on a long trip soon, so that was the priority of the day. A relatively easy one, but that’s all the energy I have. Need to return some calls and too tired to even do that.

Made my way to Hutch for the delivery and back and that all went well. Talked to my parents about what’s going on for their input.

Woke up with a call from Jonas Yoder at 8:45AM. He told me about his visit with Loren Ratzloff a few weeks ago. Loren & I used to travel to Center together for Church many years ago and some difficult things happened & that came to an end. Jonas told me they had an encouraging visit. btw Jonas is from Brookfield MO.

Went to a 10:30 appt with the chiropractor & today that went well in spite of some recent stresses. Came on back home & tried to sleep, but just had several interruptions.

Met Brenda on the way in at work & she said there are zero pts today, so I might as well bring in my laptop, which I did. 2 ER’s that were relatively minor. Did a lot of walking in the halls, for exercise and also is good for my spine. Also working thru some things in my mind that occurred last night after Church.

For some reason I am having a blank empty response to all this and not sure why. Guess I should hand it over to Jesus.
